Good Friday saw a hardy mass of windsurfers descend on the island for the annual Round Hayling Windsurf Race. As a way to kick off the windsurfing year the event usually attracts a healthy number of competitors and spectators alike with this year being no different.
Even with the prospect of competing during one of the coldest Easter periods on record a large proportion the UK windsurfing scene did battle in the light to moderate easterly winds. Eventually a winner was declared in the form of Starboard/Tushingham sponsored rider Robert Kent who completed the circumnavigation of the island in 1hr 35mins.
