After being hit by a mini tornado this past weekend its now looking increasingly likely a second bout of strong wind is on a collision course with Hayling next Monday morning.

As yet forecasts are still to firm up exact details but the early hours of the new working week will most likely coincide with a deep low pressure passing overhead bringing strong winds and high seas.

This type of weather isnt unusual for the time of year although traditional autumn conditions have been absent during the last few years. A colder and calmer pattern has prevailed before leading onto consecutive big freeze winters.

October 2013 has so far seen a return to more normal weather patterns with blustery winds rain squalls thunder and lightning. Those with a glass half full outlook will no doubt be revelling in the upside which has seen above seasonal average temperatures and warmth.

How strong this potential storm turns out to be remains to be seen. If you havent seen our daily beach weather thread on our Facebook page then have a look and keep up to date with daily conditions – https://www.facebook.com/haylingisland
