This years National Watersports Festival is due to hit West Beachlands on August 30th. Organiser Allan Cross is planning on bringing together a number of saltwater activities including windsurfing kayaking stand up paddle boarding and kitesurfing. Theres also set to be a packed entertainment programme and trade marquee.
NWF is an event that groups recreational enthusiasts together for some friendly competition. The format aims to make fun races appealing and inclusive to all. Winners do take home prizes but you dont have to cross the finish line in first place to actually win.
In 2012 pre-entry was totalling 170+at this time. As of 16th July this number is 66. A deadline date of two weeks has now been set in which its hoped things will improve if not then National Watersports Festival 2013 will be cancelled.
Allan Cross said: There is too much of a financial risk with this years NWF to just sit back and watch it crash and burn.
I will give it two more weeks to see if we have an increased pre-entry. If not then I will have no choice but to cancel the event and cut my loses.
