Hayling Golf Club was founded in 1883, by Colonel Sandeman of the Sandeman family famed for Port & Sherry production. Although originally only having a nine-hole course with the first tee located in front of the Royal Hotel, Hayling Golf Club now has one of the best 18 hole links courses in the South.
The modern club house, located west of the original course, stands proudly overlooking West beach and offers magnificent views over the Solent and onto the Isle of Wight. The course itself is set amongst 190 acres of a site of special scientific interest. Its undulating land and stiff sea breezes to contend with the course provides players of all standards with an interesting challenge.
