Residents across the borough have the chance to recycle all their small electrical items that no longer work or are no longer needed.
As part of National Recycling Week Havant Borough Council in partnership with “Weeecare” have set up drop off points for residents to take their kettles kitchen gadgets mobile phones electric fans sandwich toasters game consoles vacuum cleaners and hairdryers – in fact anything portable with a plug or batteries the list is endless.
National Recycle Week will be taking place from Monday 17th June across the borough at:
Hayling Island Community Centre Hayling Park Station Road Hayling Island
Also on Saturday 22nd June between 10am and 2pm residents will have another chance to recycle their unwanted electrical items at The Plaza Car Park Civic Centre Road Havant as well as being given the chance to enter a competition where they can win some great gadgets such as Kindles and Mini iPads.
The recycling points will accept any small portable electrical or electronic items with a plug or batteries that can be easily carried by one person. However no televisions or monitors will be accepted. New regulations mean that electrical items are restricted from landfill as they contain hazardous material.
