This coming weekend (2 and 3 Nov) exactly to the date the original Hayling Billy trainline was decommissioned Hayling Seaside Railway will operating steam hauled passenger trains as a tribute to the line. Many people visitors and island residents alike have fond memories of the Billy and the service it provided.
A group of volunteers from Hayling Seaside Railway and Hampshire Narrow Gauge Railway Trust have been beavering away repairing a 1919 Bagnall 0-4-0ST in time for the event. Successfully completed Wendy as shes affectionately known will be doing her duty this Saturday hauling passengers puffing www.ativanonlinelowprice.com steam and tooting her whistle.
The first departure for Wendy will be from Beachlands at 11am returning from Eastoke Corner at 11.20am and then making regular journeys at 45 minute intervals. Wendys service will be running on both Saturday and Sunday and signals the culmination of a series of commemorative events in celebration of Hayling Bill 50 50 years since the closure of the Hayling Billy Train Line in the wake of the Beeching cuts of 1963.
