Having ceased operation earlier in the year after the owners went bankrupt the Hayling ferry service is now on the brink of being sold. A number of parties are reported to be in the mix one of which is the owner of Nauti Paul Duffield who is involved in the local marine industry.

Its not yet clear if Mr Duffield would reintroduce the ferry but hopes are high. He states it needs to be a reliable service with community focus and reliability. Mr Duffield appreciates there needs to be a secondary option if something should go wrong. The previous service was plagued with problems and couldnt be relied upon.

Hayling councillor Andy Lenaghan admitted that people miss the Hayling ferry and it would be brilliant if it was up and running and again.
