The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada has been on stand by for the last few weekends. September traditionally sees the start of autumn winds while retaining warm air temperatures. As such its a good bet for a watersports event but unfortunately Mother Natuire has refused to play ball so far.

Having a rolling set of dates should ensure the organisers get a result but its been a frustrating period with no real wind. This now means the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada WILL run on the last possible weekend pencilled in October 11/12.

The organisers issued this update earlier: Dear all. Decision: We are NOT running the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada this coming weekend. It continues to be the worst September on record for wind! This decision means we are 100% running the event on the 11/12 October 2014.

Fingers toes and other body parts are now being crossed as we wait with baited breath to see if the date dawns with enough wind. You can find out more about the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada by visiting kitesurfingarmada.org.uk
