Funland Amusements Seafront Hayling Island announced via the forum on Saturday that they had reached an agreement with Havant Borough Council and Hayling Seaside Railway regarding the home of the attraction which is currently located at the rear of the fun park.

Funland said theyre pleased to support the operation throughout 2014 which will stay put – a move which will allow the train to continue running next year. Funland and the council will then be carrying on work with the railway to find a more permanent home moving forwards.

As many residents will already be aware plans had been aired about moving the shed further along the beach. However an outcry from homeowners adjacent to the proposed site swiftly followed with protests citing the move would be an eyesore for locals and visitors alike.

Having now reached an amicable solution the pressure on the railway company to find a new home has been slightly alleviated giving the attraction a little more breathing space while a suitable alternative location is sought.

Funland said: We recognise the important role that the railway plays in bringing visitors to the island and wish them well in their pursuit of a permanent base.
