Sunday June 1 sees the annual Sunrise to Sunset watersports challenge in aid of cancer research (W4CR) taking place at charity HQ Hayling. Set up by David Tutllebee a long standing saltwater enthusiast and lover of the island who unfortunately lost his hard fought battle to cancer a few years ago.
His legacy however is the annual event that sees enthusiasts at locations across the UK gathered together to raise money for research into the big C.
During the events early years it was mainly windsurfers who were called to arms. (David was a windsurfer first and foremost). But over time the event has embraced the wider watersports world moved the date to a warmer month and now is all inclusive.
Whether you paddle a SUP kayak or kitesurf windsurf or surf youre encouraged to take part raise some cash for a worthy cause and complete the challenge of being on the water from sunrise to sunset.
