Having spent 12 years as a Conservative politician representing Hayling the well loved Ted Gale passed away during the weekend at Queen Alexandra Hospital. The 87 year old fell while at home and had been in hospital for two months as a result.
Flags are now flying at half mast in respect of Mr Gale and a sombre mood permeates through Hampshire County Council headquarters in Winchester. A date for the funeral is yet to be set.
