Flooding information
In light of the recent bad weather and high levels of rain fall a number of areas within the borough are experiencing flooding.
Whilst Havant Borough Council have frontline staff working to assist people in areas that are at risk of flooding it is the responsibility of residents to take appropriate action to protect their property.
If you feel your property is at risk and you are able to purchase sandbags yourself local DIY stores have these in stock. Alternatively you can make your own with pillow cases refuse sacks or even carrier bags. Sand doesnt have to be used you can fill them with garden soil. The height of two bags is usually enough.
To report floods on roads please contact Hampshire County Council by calling 0845 603 5633 or online at www.hants.gov.uk/roadproblems
The Environment Agency deal with flooding of rivers and streams and can be contacted on their Floodline by calling 0845 988 1188. Information can also be found at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods.
If anyone sees flooding near electricity substations in residential areas they are asked to report it to Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) on 0800 072 72 82.
If anyone has concerns about any older or vulnerable people in their community during times of adverse weather they should call: 0845 603 5630 or out of hours 0845 600 4555. Residents are asked to be good neighbours and check on anybody elderly or who may be vulnerable during this time.
