Following recent criticism the new location for Haylings Neighbourhood Policing Team has been defended by Inspector Dave Humphries.

The new base will be located at the rear of the Hayling library Elm Grove a move branded as rubbish by councillor Andy Lenaghan.

Inspector Humphries has issued assurances that work and the way its conducted will continue to be the same as before. The only differences will be where the team are based and where their equipment is stored.

As early as October could see the move from South Street the old police building that although closed to the public since 2012 has continued to be the teams base. The new facility at Haylings library will have better facilities such as improved work stations.
