Haylings annual National Watersports Festival sees industry professionals pro riders and everyday participants of windsurfing stand up paddle boarding kayaking and kitesurfing descend upon the shingly shores of West Beachlands. The ever popular weekend is one of revelry fun times and saltwater action.
With the huge marquee erected at the start of last week numbers started to swell car parks from around Wednesday. Come Friday and everything was in full swing with on water competitions equipment demos chats from luminaries of each sport and an anxious looking Allan Cross (NWF organiser) patrolling the venue keeping everything in check.
There was no cause for concern however as by Sundays wrap up the overriding opinion was one of another cracking festival. Hordes of smiling faces were seen leaving the beach and heading home by mid-afternoon – that warm fuzzy feeling (commonly referred to as stoke by surfer types) will no doubt last a while yet. Mr Sunshine even put his hat on for the final day and that summer vibe returned making the National Watersports Festival 2015 weekend another one for the memory banks.
