Haylings very own James Dinsmore leads the overall UK Slalom Windsurfing Championships after round two at the weekend. Theres still a long way to go yet with six more dates scheduled and itll be a tough few months ahead before final victors are crowned.

The weekend action from Weymouth featured some frantic battles between a number of UK scene stars including the Isle of Wights Ross Williams fresh back from taking top honours at the Formula World Championships in the Azores. Williams was hungry for the number one podium spot and Dinsmore had his work cut out.

In ballistic winds it all came down to the very last race with James narrowly beating an on form Kevin Greenslade into third. This pushed Dinsmore into second place for the event and first overall on the championship leader board. With the next slalom event not too far away hell be back in the saddle hoping to capitalise on his early season form.

James Dinsmore juggles his training/competing diary with his day job. Youll see his red windsurfing sail flying regularly off Haylings seafront where he trains tunes and tweaks. Putting in the hours of practice needed to be on top of his game while many of his peers are away in warmer climes James proves you dont need to stray too far from home waters to be a successful windsurfer.
