The National Watersports Festival is an annual event that takes place at Hayling seafront every September. This years bash will hit West Beachlands August 30 and is gearing up to be the biggest and best yet.

Featuring a variety of different watersports including windsurfing kitesurfing stand up paddle boarding and kayaking event organiser Allan Cross is aiming to attract even more visitors in 2013 to come along and have a go witness the on water action and enjoy the good vibe party atmosphere that permeates throughout the event site.

Haylings local business community and residents are also being encouraged to get on board and support NWF 2013 as from a visibility point of view the get together is a great way to get any type of message in front of a large audience. Last year over 7000 spectators enjoyed the goings on at the beach and increased footfall is being forecast for this year.

Councillor Andy Lenaghan commented: Ive supported it from the word go. Its been a bit of a battle sometimes but it goes to show that its taken off now. Its a great event for Hayling and long may it continue. It just gets bigger and bigger. I would really encourage businesses to make the most of it.

Lots of people will be heading here and we need to show that we are well stocked up on everything and we are ready for business.

Hayling is one of a few UK centres of excellence for all watersports and the NWF is a great advert for the island in general. With the continued support from locals the popularity of Hayling for watersports will continue which in turn should have a knock on effect for the local economy.
