Due to an underground cable fault on Havant Road traffic this morning on Hayling has been particularly bad. Congestion at points has stretched all the way back to Mill Rythe School and beyond.

SSE are onsite dealing with the problem but temporary traffic lights had to be set up only allowing traffic flow in one direction at a time. Happening right in the middle of rush hour with commuters trying to work and school the congestion has been significant.

Snarl ups such as this do happen occasionally and concerns have been raised on numerous occasions by residents. Having a knock on effect to other parts of the island such as West Lane frustrations have been high with opinion expressed on the Hayling site Facebook page and forum.

According to residents who have been in contact with the company SSE have said they hope to finish work by the end of today although they havent given any definites.
