Hayling Island U3A 1914-1919 Project.

Hayling U3A have been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to research The Life and Times on Hayling Island 1914-1919. We are keen to make contact with Local Hayling Familys whos ancestors were living on the Island at that time. We plan to publish a book in November 2014 and mount an Exhibition at the Hayling British Legion Club from the 8th – 16th. November 2014. Our research to date has discovered 18 men from Hayling who lost their lives during the conflict whos names are not recorded on the Memorial Plaques in St. Marys Church.
