St Valentines Day 2014 saw part of Hayling flooded as high tides stormy seas and gale force winds battered the island – a number of resident homes were engulfed as a result. Local Hayling police officers Hamlyn Strawn and Neil Roberts stepped in to help those in distress.
In recognition of their efforts the two Hayling officers have been awarded the bronze Citizen Focus tie pin. Presented by Chief Inspector Patrick Holdaway the award recognises the officers dedication and service to the community.
