Havant Borough Council will be advising residents on how to ensure their kitchens are a contamination free zone during Food Safety Week 10 16 June.
Environmental Health Officers will be able to give advice on cleaning avoiding cross contamination cooking food thoroughly chilling food correctly and using leftovers safely.
Visitors to The Plaza during Food Safety Week will be able to view a fridge with food correctly and incorrectly stored as well as take part in a quiz.
Sylvia Crabtree Senior Environmental Health Officer said: Most people dont believe the food they cook at home can make them ill but meals prepared at home can be a source of food poisoning. Kitchen Check is a simple tool that helps you find out if your kitchen habits are putting you or your family and friends at risk of food poisoning.
Kitchen Check helps you to go through each stage of the food preparation and cooking process to find out how well you are doing or whether there are things you can change to help protect you and those you care about from food poisoning.
