Halloween may be perceived as a fun night of ghosties and ghoulies but there are a number of Hayling residents such as the elderly who can find all the horror themed fun intimidating.
Trick or treating has long been a tradition of our cousins across the pond but over the past few years its become more popular in the UK. Each October costumes are donned and children head out many accompanied by parents to trick or treat islanders. Unfortunately there is a minority who use this as license to cause trouble.
In an effort to crack down on anti social behaviour and give a more structured and organised feel to All Hallows Eve Hayling police and Safer Havant Partnership are organising a horror fun walk along the seafront. The second year of the event hundreds of children are expected to take part with everyone meeting next to Funlands at 5.45pm with departure at 6pm.
Pepperellis at Eastoke Corner will be providing refreshments and Funlands have offered a discounted rides wristband for horror walk wanderers. Fireworks will cap off Halloween 2014 later on.
Last year there were only two calls to police regarding anti social behaviour.
