A Hayling.co.uk forum announcement yesterday confirmed that current Hayling Island sea defence repairs taking place in the Eastoke area are expected to come out bang on the 5m budget. Its also hoped that all work will be completed on schedule with the site ready for reopening at the end of October.
The post from forum member Coastal Partnership goes into detail about the level and type of maintenance thats been completed to date. 69000 tonnes of rock 16000 tonnes of shingle (with a further 13000 tonnes sprayed onto shore) have been used in the scheme. Another 6000 10000 tonnes of shingle are expected to be delivered to complete the shingle works over the next few weeks.
Its also been highlighted how the team have managed to reuse www.medsforhairloss.com some of the old groynes that were removed – now being put in place as timber steps down to the beach. The steps will allow access to the beach even in the event of storms causing beach levels to lower.
New access ramps and handrails have been installed with disabled residents and visitors having been taken into account. A ramp suitable for mobility scooters wheelchairs buggies and bikes has been fitted at the Nutbourne road entry point. A new boardwalk platform in front of Nab car park has also been laid down. Combined with Eastoke Plaza and seafront areas the area is now more accessible than ever.
