Last year saw the biggest turn out of watersports industry members and enthusiasts to date descend on West Beachlands to celebrate participate and indulge in windsurfing stand up paddle boarding kitesurfing and kayaking. With its huge trade marquee friendly competition professional demonstrations opportunities to try different kit and two parties 2013 was a National Watersports Festival to remember.
Building on the success of last year organiser Allan Cross has much more planned for Septermber 5-7. Once again the UKs watersports fraternity will make the pilgrimage to the home of UK windsurfing and centre of watersports excellence that is Hayling Island.
For entry level participants taster sessions were laid with a special discount extended to Hayling Island locals who fancied getting involved in the activities. This will be on offer again but early booking is recommended as sessions were oversubscribed last year.
A collaborative effort between Kayaking Canoe England Portsmouth Watersports Centre British Stand Up Paddle Association the Royal Yachting Association and the UK Windsurfing Association the festival has experts on hand at every turn ensuring all those taking part are well looked after. Seasoned veterans will have the opportunity to discuss all things H2O with the many pros and industry representatives throughout the weekend as well as getting out for a float themselves.
Allan said: Were delighted with how well tickets are selling especially as there are still three months left until the event. We decided to go big on the merchandise this year especially with the hoodies as we want to ensure that everyone gets the size they want as many of the popular sizes sold out early on in last years event. As well as getting mega organised its great seeing everyone wearing the kit and adds to the whole community atmosphere of the National Watersports Festival.
