After a successful year in 2012 Sandy Point based RNLI lifeboat station will be the starting point for the round Hayling kayak challenge that will cover 18 miles and raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and RNLI.

Last years tally was more than 2500 and the hope is that this figure will be smashed in 2013.

The challenge kicks off at 10.30am July 7 from Sandy Point RNLI station and is expected to take around five hours to complete.

For those whove never paddled around the island then tides wind and other mentalhealthdrugs.com obstacles present challenges but its still achievable.

Hayling RNLI operation manager said: We are delighted that the fire service is organising this challenging event. We are pleased to support the event with several crew members who are not on watch acting as safety boat crew in their own boats. Lets hope for a good day in terms of weather and response.

Application details can be obtained via perry.dodgson@hantsfire.gov.uk. Donations are accepted by sending a cheque payable to RIKE to Havant or Hayling fire and lifeboat stations.
