In the wake of recent storms that lashed the shore of Hayling and caused damage to a number of beach huts a large amount of shingle was moved which has revealed a number of buried bones.

The skeleton does seem to be that of an animal and is possibly the remains of an animal carcass. A few years ago there were a number of horses that were lost at sea after getting cut off on the sand bank and its widely believed the remains belong to one of these unfortunate creatures.

A special scientific police unit has been spotted attending the scene to inspect the remains. With incidents such as this the response from police is standard and should prove the origin of the skeleton.
