After being postponed from April due to bad weather the patriotic Summer Hayling for St George event will be taking place at Eastoke Plaza on Sunday August 3. Final preparations are being put in place with organiser Cllr Leah Turner hoping for a great turnout at what will be a fantastic event.

Summer Hayling for St George will kick off at midday and run until 5pm. Therell be music and entertainment from across the decades with something on offer for all tastes. Among the confirmed acts will be Out of the Shadows The Langstone Big Band and Georges Regis Jazz Band. Money collected on the day will be donated to The Lions Club of Hayling Island.

Cllr Turner said: After the disappointment when Hayling for St George was postponed from April 27 because of bad weather we are happy to announce that Summer Hayling for St George is coming on Sunday August 3. The flags will be flying and bunting decorating the Eastoke Plaza as we celebrate St Georges Day albeit a little late with the best of English entertainment by the seaside. With music from the 1900s up until the 1970s theres something for everyone at our free event.
