An unsure time lies ahead but a better year is being hoped for Haylings Seaside Railway. As one of the most popular attractions on the island the business is looking to put the worries of 2013 behind them and surge ahead.

Most will be aware of the continuing search for a new site for their depot after the existing location behind Funland Amusements was needing to be vacated at the end of last year. After proposals for a new home close to Bound Lane were met with objections from residents Funland extended the use of their space until the end of 2014. The land next to Bound Lane was described as a blot on the landscape with an engine shed erected.

Volunteer PR officer for the railway Ian Edwards says they are getting on with planning and implementing 2014s programme beyond that theres no certainty of what lies ahead.

Negotiations with Havant Borough Council are currently ongoing with hopes a new and permanent home for the railway shed can be found.
