The Ferry Boat Inn is currently undergoing a 250000 renovation due to be completed any day now. When finished the popular drinking and eating establishment will open its doors once again with a new look and refreshed decor.

Good news for local Hayling islanders is 15 new jobs are set to be created once the work has finished. Stonegate Pub Company who own and operate the iconic venue are changing the menu and want to offer a revitalised approach to the way the pub operates.

Interiors will be given a facelift top to toe the outside waterfront facing area will be extended to accommodate 50 customers and glass windbreakers will be placed strategically allowing customers to enjoy the outdoor space.

Regular visitors are told to expect a significant change once the Ferry Boat reopens and not just because of the new contemporary look and feel. A greater emphasis will be placed on food and head chef Gina McLaughlin will be putting in a great deal of work behind the scenes. A new lighter bite menu with meals less than 500 calories will also feature to attract a wider audience.

Friday November 8 is the official relaunch with a VIP reception of invited guests and businesses set to attend from 5pm. The public will then be welcomed in at 7pm with live music provided by acoustic performer Ben Criddle. Also on the cards is a family fun day on Sunday 10 with a further date scheduled for December 8.
