The current run of unseasonably mild wet and blustery weather is set to continue this weekend with yet another low pressure system waiting in the wings ready to dump its watery contents on Hayling and the surrounding Hampshire countryside.

Last nights wind topped out around 50 knots and although the next few days are going to be pleasant enough its all change come Friday evening and into Saturday morning. Current predictions are still to firm up exact details as the weather system in question is quite volatile however disruption from flooding and damaging gusts will need to be taken heed of. It could be worth double checking there isnt anything fly away in your garden or any tree branches ripe for snapping off.

Eastokes recently completed sea defences have had to work overtime on a number of occasions so far this winter. Tides arent set to be massive this weekend but with high seas and strong winds predicted theres a good chance of surging water during the run up to high tide.

Hopefully the barrier will continue to do its job and although the works havent been everyones cup of tea residents who own properties close to vulnerable areas will be better protected during blustery weather events such as this.
