Summer on Hayling is always a busy time for the local RNLI lifeboat station and 2014 has been no different with the crews rescue services called on numerous times. Sometimes having to assist with multiple incidents in one day it can almost be non stop.
Every type of call out is dealt with promptly and efficiently the boatmen heading to help others whatever the weather and sea conditions. Often putting themselves at risk the brave RNLI volunteers are always ready when needed.
Keeping the service running does rely on fund raising events and donations though.
This year weve already seen the now annual round Hayling kayak paddle take place. The Lifeboat Inn is also recognised as a big supporter with Hayley Wallage and her team raising 18000 for the service since 2002. Without this support the much needed lifeboat service wouldnt be able to continue.
As numbers entering the water grow every year its the RNLI who provide the emergency response when things go wrong. Without their hard work more lives would be lost at sea.
