Hayling play parks are in need of help to turn them into something more appealing. According to a survey of Hayling children the run down nature of the islands play parks is something that most would like to change.

Councillors Andy Lenaghan and Leah Turner have joined together in a bid to raise the 100000 needed to refurbish Menghams park. This is the first on the list and its hoped Hayling Park will be next in line for a facelift. Along with PC Debbie Surridge the trio are asking for Hayling residents to come up with ideas for raising funds. Its hoped a community effort will see the much needed play park upgrades come to fruition.

Councillor Turner has been keen to stress that these parks wont just be for small children. They will be facilities designed with toddlers to teenagers in mind.

Donations should be sent in cheque form to 15 Nicholas Court Green Lane Hayling PO11 0BQ and made out to Play Parks for Hayling. More info on the project can be found at playparksforhayling.co.uk.
