With St. Georges Day just around the corner preparations are being finalised for celebrations being held on the island.

A great line-up of St. Georges Day entertainment is on the cards for this year. Sunday April 21 will see proceedings kicking off at midday with Solent Overlords Military Vehicles Hayling Legends and Classic Cars displays.

Then proceedings move to Eastoke Plaza where the Hayling Musical Society will be belting out wartime and patriotic songs to rouse the crowds. This will be followed by music provided by Out of the Shadows.

The Merlett Morris Men will be providing entertainment while a traditional Punch and Judy show will keep the kids occupied.

The day will be rounded off at 6.30pm with a sunset ceremony that will feature music from the HMS Collingwood Band.

All donated money will be given to Hayling Island First Responders who provide much need first aid – sometimes before ambulances arrive.
