NEW jobs will be created in Hayling Island as a pub is going through a 250000 makeover.
The Ferryboat Inn in Ferry Road is set to have 15 new jobs once it reopens on November 8 after a 19-day renovation.
The overhaul of the pub will see its interior refurbished from top to toe while the pubs waterfront outside area will be extended to seat 50 customers with glass windbreakers.
The pub which is owned and operated by Stonegate Pub Company is also going to relaunch with a new menu.
General manager Peter McLaughlin said: Its location makes The Ferryboat Inn such an iconic pub.
Theres something quite special about the pub being on the beach whether in summer when youre enjoying a drink and lunch in the sunshine or winter when you can enjoy a freshly-cooked meal a favourite pint and watch the waves crash outside.
Those who have frequented The Ferryboat Inn over the years will notice quite a significant change when it reopens.
We wanted to retain its charm but at the same time give it a contemporary stylish look.
And now with a fresh new focus on food led by our head chef Gina McLaughlin we look forward to welcoming customers new and old to the Ferryboat Inn.
The new menu will focus on a lighter bite with meals that are 500 calories or less.
Mr McLaughlin and his team will host a VIP reception for invited guests and businesses to celebrate the pubs relaunch on Friday November 8 at 5pm.
Doors open to the public from 7pm with entertainment from acoustic guitarist Ben Criddle.
The pub will host its first family fun day on Sunday November 10 10 with another scheduled for Sunday December 8.
Children can dine for 1 with parents and there will be a face painter and table entertainer during the day.
