First happening in 1980 the iconic Round Hayling Windsurf Race and SUP challenge is happening once again this Easter (Good Friday) and looks set to be the biggest and best yet.

For many Hayling Island is the spiritual home of the sport in the UK and where a young Pete Chilvers first attached an articulating rig (sail mast and boom) to a board. The rest as they say is history.

In recent times stand up paddle boarding has been included and now the event attracts watersporst aficionados from all across the country and signals the official start of the summer sailing and SUP season.

Entry to this years event is now open but limited to 150 competitors. Those who sign up before Feb 28 will receive a free commemorative t-shirt. Head over to http://sailracer.org/events/entryform-v2rya.asp?eventid=197592&classtype=Round_Hayling where youll find the online registration form.
