The weekend was a gloriously sunny one as many enjoyed. It was perfect weather for showing off the various flora and fauna shooting skyward during spring.
Hayling Horticultural Societys annual seasonal show attracted a large turnout of visitors and exhibitors. A spring in the step perfume in the nostrils and vibrant colours for the eyes whats not to love about this time of year?
From orchids to cacti and daffodils to cakes the show was a blooming success with many members taking part in the competition. Non-members were also encouraged to enter and first timer Peter May achieved a first second and third place proving anyone can take top honours.
Show manager Norman Newton was extremely pleased and said: I love holding these shows every year but it takes so much planning. But everyone has fun and at 30p to enter the competition it is the cheapest fun anyone can have.
It wasnt just growers though with many enthusiasts just there to browse.
Visitors commented it was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
Keep an out for more Hayling Horticultural Society events happening throughout the year.
