Hayling Islands Lifeboat Inn and its landlady Hayley Wallage have put in a sterling effort over the last 12 years by raising over 18000 for the RNLI.

Each Sunday a selection of meats are raffled off with proceeds going towards the upkeep maintenance and continued running of this highly valued service.

The RNLI have now officially recognised Hayleys efforts and presented her with a certificate of achievement this weekend. The Chief Executive of the RNLI Paul Boissier signed the document which was awarded by Hayling RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager and Deputy Launch Authority Peter Walmsley. They both praised her tireless efforts and thanked her on behalf of the crew.

Written on the certificate was as follows:

The Chairman and Council of the RNLI wish to record their sincere thanks to Hayley Wallage of The Lifeboat Inn in recognition of her dedicated support for the RNLI on Hayling Island raising funds to help save lives at sea.
