I am aware that the traders in Emsworth are collating signatures from residents and visitors to Emsworth in order to present a petition to Havant Borough Council to request that we reconsider the recent changes in parking charges in the town. You may be aware that the Council has received a similar petition from traders in Hayling Island and that this is already programmed for a full debate at Council on the 24 July this year.
In preparation for this debate Councillor Collins who is the portfolio holder responsible for parking services in Havant has requested that officers undertake further work in advance of the meeting including an analysis of car park usage across the entire borough since the changes were implemented in February this year to enable Council to have a full and informed debate around charges in all centres and not just Hayling Island.
