This weekend saw the Bournemouth and Shoreham Airshows take place and featured a number of classic wartime aircraft fly bys. Hayling was directly in the flight path of these old timers and those with a keen eye to the sky may have been lucky enough to witness these work horses pass by overhead.
Perhaps most impressive was the fly past of a Vulcan Bomber (XH558) which nearly didnt make it due to technical faults. Other aircraft were spotted including a USAF B-17 bomber made famous by the Hollywood film Memphis Belle. The planes flew past around 15:30 and provided a glimpse into the past for those lucky enough to see them.
