Wednesday April 23 marks the launch of the 70th anniversary commemorative festival of the D-Day landings. The Brookfield Hotel Emsworth will be hosting the gathering at 6.30pm on the day. There are a number of happenings across the borough linked to the historical World War date.
Hayling will have an exhibition at the library and will feature memorabilia and tales from this time of turmoil uncertainty and change. The idea is to educate and inform giving people knowledge and information to ensure details arent lost.
The opening will feature light refreshments and give the opportunity to learn more about the various activities and where theyll be taking place. A 12 page brochure will be available during the evening and organisers are encouraging people to take these away and spread the word.
