After announcements were made regarding Commander Harold Wilkinson Gouldings planned commemoration who played an active role in planning the D-Day landings the servicemans granddaughter discovered he had a half brother and sister. The family will now be reunited for the ceremony on August 21 where the Cdr Gouldings contribution to the war effort will be honoured. Cdr Goulding was also awarded the Distinguished Service Order.

Two plaques will be unveiled by the British Plaque Society one placed at the Langstone Hotel and the other laid at the Commanders former house Moss Rose Cottage in Northney.

As part of celebrations there will also be a Spitfire flyby and a bunch of Cockle canoes taking to the water.
