Langstone Harbour is home for a diverse array of marine and wildlife and gives residents and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy this special area and all it has to offer.
However for the beauty of Langstone to remain intact theres a degree of looking after needed which is where the Langstone Harbour Board come in. Dealing with harbour management safety and education among other things the board helps to maintain the areas beauty and keep it from falling into disrepair.
The Langstone Harbour Advisory Committee is the link between the Harbour Board and the invaluable work they carry out. Being able to relay information from organisations and parties that have a vested interest in the harbour is key to the successful continuation of the boards work.
Every year the committee organises an open forum where the general public is invited to come along and learn more about what goes on meet staff and put faces to names.
This years forum to be held at Langstone Sailing Club Thursday October 10 between 7pm 9.30pm will include talks from The Maritime Archaeology Trust The Environment Agency and Portsmouth Watersports Centre.
Everybody is welcome to go along but its asked if you could let the harbour office know beforehand. Give them a call 02392 463419 or check their website for more http://www.langstoneharbour.org.uk/index.php
